Dead Reckoning

A man rides around Vienna's Ringstrasse boulevard and into the city, where he falls on hard times, eats and finally ends up on the toilet, followed all the way by Death in the form of an animated skeleton who even appears as a grumpy waiter. Susan Young's drawn animation is combined with Paul Wenninger's pixilated live action, set to a techno soundtrack by the Viennese band Elektro Guzzi. The film was made in 2016 as one of three winning projects of the short film competition "The Rhythm of Vienna".
