Raymonde or the Vertical Escape

Raymonde, a sixty-year-old owl-woman, lives alone on a remote farm, tending her kitchen garden and raising rabbits. Weighed down by loneliness, she starts questioning the meaning of things, God and her late-arriving virginity, and feels an immense desire for love and for the vastness of the sky.
