From feature films and shorts to television, commissioned films, graduation films and immersive works, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival presents animation across a range of formats and techniques. Its Official Selection sits alongside filmmaker meetings, Work in Progress presentations, masterclasses, exhibitions and open-air screenings in Annecy, France.
The festival's history in Annecy dates to 1960. CITIA organises the event alongside the International Animation Film Market (Mifa), which connects the artistic programme with the animation industry. The dates for the 2027 festival are 13–19 June 2027.

Festival rules
2026 regulations: The festival accepts animated works made using any frame-by-frame technique and submitted for the first time to Annecy, with completion after 1 January 2025. Separate terms apply to short films, feature films, TV and web series, commissioned films, graduation films and immersive works. These are the published conditions for 2026, rather than the entry conditions for 2027.
Registration is through the festival's online account and category-specific form. The submitter must hold the necessary rights to the work. Screening links or uploaded viewing copies are required; works in languages other than French or English require French or English subtitles for selection. Feature films have French premiere restrictions, with specified Cannes exceptions. Graduation films made as part of academic studies belong in the graduation category.
TV submissions cover series, web series and specials; only one episode per series is eligible, and pilots or episodes from a series selected previously are excluded. Commissioned films include educational, scientific, corporate, advertising and promotional works and music videos. Immersive works include virtual, augmented and mixed reality experiences.
