Digging for Life

Adiang Assuoe Thomas Germain, known as Tommy, leaves his hometown of Limbe, Cameroon, hoping to reach post-apartheid South Africa, but is sold by a stranger into a diamond operation in Angola, where he is held as a slave for four years. Made with Germain as a producer, the documentary combines his first-person account with archival footage and a dance performance by Stanley Glover.
