Digerati Experimental Media Festival shows digital animation and experimental moving-image work on public LED screens in downtown Denver, Colorado. It is organised by Denver Digerati, a nonprofit devoted to experimental media and performance, and accepts short works made primarily with digital techniques from artists anywhere in the world. Until 2022 the event ran as the Supernova Digital Animation Festival; since 2023 it carries the Digerati name and divides its selection into themed programmes, each with its own prizes.

The 11th edition, titled Replay, runs from 1 September to 30 November 2026. Instead of premieres it revisits work by individual artists that has already travelled the festival circuit, including earlier Digerati programmes, and screens it free to the public on del, a new LED screen of the Denver Theatre District. Selected artists receive a screening stipend.

Awards and prizes

Selected artists receive screening stipends that depend on venue and programme. In 2026 the selected artists vote between an equal split of the stipend pool and public-selected awards with fewer, larger payouts. Earlier editions gave first and second places, honourable mentions and awards of distinction within each themed programme.

Festival rules

Submissions through FilmFreeway; no entry fee. Artists from any country may submit up to two works. Works must be made primarily by digital means; live action is accepted only when it integrates with a digital interface. Minimum length is two minutes; for the 2026 edition works must be under ten minutes, and non-premiere works are sought. Content must suit an all-ages public setting, with no strong strobe effects. Minors need parental consent. Selected works screen over a 90-day period; artists keep ownership and grant the festival a non-exclusive licence for in-person and online screenings and promotion.
