ShorTS International Film Festival centres on short cinema in Trieste, Italy, with the international Maremetraggio competition alongside programmes for Italian films, very short works, environmental subjects and young audiences. Associazione Maremetraggio organises the festival, which also explores immersive cinema and connects film with comics through the ShorTS Comics Marathon.
Children and teenagers help select the Shorter Kids’n’Teens programme through film education and serve on its juries. The festival also offers masterclasses and development training for short-film projects. Its history includes the name Festival Maremetraggio, in use until 2013. The dates for the 28th edition are 26 June–3 July 2027 in Trieste.
