Children in the audience choose the prizewinners at PequeFilmes, a festival of international short films for young viewers in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia. Its programme is organised into Vagalumes, Miñocas and Fanecas, with screenings adapted to different ages. Films by Galician filmmakers and schools receive particular attention alongside work from other countries. Cinema and animation workshops accompany the screenings.

The Xunta de Galicia organises the festival through the Museo Centro Gaiás at the Cidade da Cultura, with the collaboration of Cinética. The tenth edition dates are 27 February–1 March 2026 at the Museo Centro Gaiás; its programme includes selections from Clermont-Ferrand and a retrospective of prizewinning films from the festival’s first ten editions.

Festival rules

There is no limit on the number of films submitted. Preview copies with dialogue outside Galician or Spanish require subtitles in either language, or English. Selected films without Galician or Spanish subtitles must supply a clean screening copy and a separate English dialogue list, preferably a timed SRT file. Competitive selections receive no screening fee. Excerpts may be used for festival promotion; additional promotional screenings during the following year require prior notification to rights holders.
