The NY Portuguese Short Film Festival takes Portuguese short films from a New York premiere to screenings around the world. Produced by Arte Institute, it focuses on work by Portuguese filmmakers living in Portugal and abroad, across genres, themes and styles. An industry panel selects the programme from submissions by filmmakers, production companies and educational institutions.
The festival dates back to June 2011, with simultaneous first screenings in New York and Lisbon. Its international circuit includes presentations in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas and Australia. The 16th edition’s New York screening is at Lincoln Center on 7 July 2026.
