The festival, formerly called COLCOA French Film Festival, presents new French films and television series in Los Angeles, with competitions for cinema, television, documentaries and short films. It was created in 1997 by the Franco-American Cultural Fund, a partnership of the Directors Guild of America, the Motion Picture Association, SACEM and the Writers Guild of America West. The selection consists mainly of premieres, often shown before the French release or a US distribution deal.
Screenings take place at the Directors Guild of America theater complex on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, alongside panels and workshops for film professionals and school screenings for high school students. The 30th edition runs from 3 to 8 November 2026.
