The festival presents independent moving image practices from across Asia through screenings, exhibitions, performances, talks, workshops and live acts. It focuses on work made outside the mainstream art and film industries and traces the history of Asian avant-garde filmmaking through the visual culture lens of M+, the museum in Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District that organises it.
The festival dates back to 2024. Its third edition, Space Enter Shift, runs from 29 to 31 May 2026 at M+ Cinema and the Festival Lounge, and explores space through time-based media.
