Moscow International Experimental Film Festival (MIEFF) focuses on experimental cinema in Moscow. Its 2021 programme at Garage Screen includes international and Russian competitions, a Close-up section dedicated to American avant-garde filmmaker Nathaniel Dorsky, and talks on cinema and artistic practice.
The sixth edition dates are 11–17 August 2021. Its international competition presents 29 short films from 24 countries in six sections exploring the search for a place on the planet. The programme also includes an artist talk by Saodat Ismailova on collective memory and its visualization, a talk by Evgeny Mayzel on Dorsky’s work, and screenings of the winning films.
