Films told from children’s and young people’s perspectives shape the programme of BUFF Malmö Film Festival in Sweden. Its international selection spans short and feature films, with separate programming groups for each format and audiences ranging from preschool to high school age. The festival seeks stories that broaden young viewers’ experience of cinema, balancing fantasy and realism and encouraging representation in front of and behind the camera.

BUFF dates back to 1984 and operates as a nonprofit association. Alongside screenings, it provides a forum for professionals to discuss the production, distribution and exhibition of films for young audiences. The dates for the 2027 edition in Malmö are 13–19 March 2027.
