Bloody Week-end combines fantasy and horror cinema with a convention of artists, special-effects make-up practitioners, writers and illustrators in Valentigney, France. Organised by Association Bloody Zone, the festival presents feature films and short-film screenings alongside meetings with actors and directors, conferences, exhibitions and demonstrations. Its international short-film competition brings live-action and animation before a jury of film professionals. The Village fantastique extends the programme into sculpture, comics, photography and other arts connected with fantastic cinema.
