Organized by Associazione Piemonte Movie in Turin, Italy, it combines these competitions with tributes and thematic programmes. Its roots lie in the first Piemonte Movie festival in Moncalieri in 2000; its move to Turin dates from 2008, and its current name dates from 2018.

The dates of the 25th edition are 11–15 November 2026 at Cinema Massimo in Turin. Too Short To Wait provides a separate preview showcase for short-film submissions.
