An open-air night of independent Russian animation forms the centre of Cartoon’naya noch at the Tula Historical and Architectural Museum in Tula, Russia. The biennial festival combines recent animated shorts with children’s screenings, artist talks and practical animation workshops. Its museum setting includes the courtyard and the Kraft and Belyavsky houses. Curator Nadezhda Svirskaya shapes the programme, which includes films by independent artists, studios and animation students.

The festival uses its current name from 2019, following the museum’s Kartonnaya noch events. The 2025 main programme spans 7–8 June, with a four-hour outdoor screening continuing after midnight. An accompanying laboratory introduces teenagers to collage in animation.
