The Festival of Slovenian Film Portorož surveys contemporary Slovenian cinema, presenting fiction, documentary, animation and experimental work across feature, medium-length and short formats. Its competition and accompanying programmes include student films and Slovenian minority co-productions. Screenings are accompanied by discussions with filmmakers, while the industry programme includes conferences, workshops and co-production meetings.

The festival continues a tradition that begins with the Week of Domestic Film in Celje in the 1970s. The geographical designation Portorož forms part of its official name from 2021. The dates of the 29th edition are 13–18 October 2026 in Portorož, Slovenia. The festival presents Vesna awards for films and individual creative achievements.
