The Landshut Short Film Festival combines international short-film competitions with a German-language competition for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Its Shock Blocks focus on horror, fantasy, science fiction and thrillers, while DaHome explores the idea of Heimat, or homeland. Animation, documentary films, children’s films and the regional Lokalrunde form further strands of the programme.
Organised by Dynamo Kurzfilm e.V. in Landshut, Germany, the festival presents films of up to 30 minutes and awards both jury and audience prizes. The dates for the 27th edition are 10–15 March 2027.

Festival rules
For the 2027 edition, films must run no longer than 30 minutes and be completed after 1 January 2025. Submissions run from 1 May to 25 October 2026 through the platforms linked by the festival.
The international and animation competitions accept films worldwide. G-S-A / D-A-CH accepts German-language films from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Documentary entries must come from those three countries; children’s films must also be in German. Deadline_Award covers horror, mystery, fantasy, science fiction and thrillers. The 2027 submission-platform rules describe Lokalrunde as German-language films produced in Bavaria. DaHome recognises an international film addressing homeland.
Screening formats are DCP, high-resolution Full HD files and Apple ProRes. Films in other languages need English or German subtitles. Submitters must hold the necessary screening rights. A preliminary jury selects films and the artistic management assigns programmes. No screening fee is paid. The organiser may use trailers and excerpts for festival coverage unless the submitter objects. Submission accepts the festival’s conditions and privacy policy.
