Mequinenza International Film Festival
Festival Internacional de Cine de Mequinenza
Water connects the international short-film selection at Mequinenza International Film Festival (MIFF) with the rivers, landscape and memory of its host town in Aragón, Spain. The programme spans fiction, documentary and animation, alongside the Río Bravo western section and Panorama Aragonés. Sections named after the Ebro, Segre and Cinca reflect the town’s setting at their confluence. The festival dates back to 2016 and offers free screenings and activities.
The Ayuntamiento de Mequinenza organizes the festival. The dates for the eleventh edition are 3–6 September 2026 at Sala Goya, with a separate pre-festival on 28–30 August 2026 featuring classic films and a western exhibition. The programme also includes filmmaker presentations and a feature documentary about the town’s former settlement.
