MEDIAWAVE combines an international film competition with a music and cultural gathering in Hungary. Its film programme includes short fiction, documentaries and animation, as well as a Hungarian selection. Screenings sit within a wider programme of concerts, workshops and performances that combine film projection with other forms of artistic expression.

The festival dates back to 1991 in Győr and also uses the name Fényírók Fesztiválja – Another Connection. Film and music form its two main strands, while workshops extend the programme into shared artistic activity. The gathering takes place at Szigliget Várudvar, the castle courtyard in Szigliget.
