TIFF Kids International Film Festival brings international animation, live-action and documentary films to children and families at TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto. Its programme combines short films and features with school screenings, including sensory-friendly screenings and subtitled films with live readers. Young People's Juries give children aged 8–13 a role in choosing award winners, alongside audience voting and an adult jury of film professionals.

The festival dates back to 1998 under the name Sprockets Toronto International Film Festival for Children. TIFF is its organizer. The last edition took place on 9–18 March 2018; the festival is now retired.

Festival rules

Archived 2018 regulations: the festival is retired and these are historical conditions, not a current call for entries. Animation, live-action and documentary films are eligible in short and feature categories. Shorts run up to 40 minutes including credits; features run at least 41 minutes. North American premieres are preferred for features and Canadian premieres for shorts, with exceptions at the festival’s discretion. Films previously submitted to TIFF Kids are ineligible. Submissions use Withoutabox, with online screeners for shorts and online or DVD screeners for features. Non-English films require English subtitles. Applicants must hold the necessary rights and permissions. Selection decisions belong to TIFF.
