FESA presents student animation from European film schools and individual student authors at the Belgrade Fortress in Serbia. Its competition uses a different theme for each edition and covers films up to five minutes, films from five to thirty minutes, experimental animation, advertising films and music videos, and films for children. The festival dates back to 2012 and is organised by the public enterprise Belgrade Fortress, with artistic direction by animator and professor Rastko Ćirić.
The 2017 edition dates are 26–27 August 2017 at the Great Gunpowder Magazine, with the competition theme “Rhythm (around and within us)”.
