Kaohsiung Film Festival combines fantasy-oriented feature programming with international short-film and XR competitions in southern Taiwan. Organised by the Kaohsiung Film Archive, the festival dates back to 2001. Its international short-film competition, established in 2011, accepts fiction, documentary, animation and experimental work, with separate international and Taiwan sections. The Kaohsiung Shorts and Kaohsiung VR FILM LAB Originals programmes showcase locally supported productions. XR Dreamland brings immersive storytelling into the programme, alongside industry talks and workshops.

The dates for the 2026 edition are 9–26 October 2026 in Kaohsiung. Its programme includes the annual theme Dramaland, filmmaker retrospectives, international short films, and VR360 and interactive XR experiences.
