The Madrid Italian Film Festival presents contemporary Italian cinema to Spanish audiences through premieres of feature films, documentaries and shorts in their original language with Spanish subtitles. Organised by the Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid under the auspices of the Italian Embassy, it combines competitions with conversations with filmmakers, retrospectives and tributes to Italian cinema.
Screenings take place across Madrid cinemas and at the Institute, with free admission. Its collaboration with the Giffoni Film Festival includes films and workshops for younger audiences, while industry meetings connect Italian and Spanish cinema professionals. The dates for the 19th edition are 5–12 December 2026.
