Ciné Junior introduces children aged 2 to 14 and their families to films from France and abroad through age-adapted programmes across Val-de-Marne and the wider Île-de-France region. Its international competitions present short and feature films, including works without French distribution, alongside thematic screenings, workshops, filmmaker encounters and film concerts. Professional screenings encourage cinemas and distributors to support the selected films.

The festival dates back to 1991 and is organised by the association Cinéma Public Val-de-Marne with the support of the Val-de-Marne Departmental Council. Award-winning films receive financial and technical support for their release. The dates for the 2027 edition are 20–31 January 2027, with screenings in more than 60 cinemas in Île-de-France.
