French Film Festival

The French Film Festival presents French cinema across the Czech Republic, combining previews of new releases with repertory screenings and short films. Organised by the French Institute in Prague, it includes a Czech Critics’ Choice competition in which the audience chooses the winning film. Its Prague programme also features a dedicated Short Film Night and tributes to filmmakers, while regional cinemas present a selection of previews.

The 29th edition dates are 19–25 November 2026, with screenings in Prague, Brno, České Budějovice, Hradec Králové and Ostrava. The programme includes retrospectives of Agnès Varda and Claude Chabrol and a focus on actor Benjamin Voisin.
