Madrid Short Film Week places short films supported by the Comunidad de Madrid alongside national, international and fantastic cinema. Organised by the regional government, the festival dates back to 1998. Its Official Section combines screenings with conversations with the filmmakers, while parallel events include tributes, meetings with directors and programmes connected with the ECAM film school. A coproduction forum organised by the Madrid Audiovisual Association connects Madrid producers with companies from Europe and Latin America.

The 28th edition runs from 16 to 24 October 2026 in Madrid, with its Official Section at the Cine Estudio of the Círculo de Bellas Artes. The accompanying coproduction forum has separate dates, 15–17 October 2026.

Awards and prizes

The 2026 edition includes the main Best Short Film award, an Audience Award for an Official Section short, and the Impulso ECAM award for Best Direction. Telemadrid awards a first prize of EUR 6,000 and five prizes of EUR 4,000 in broadcasting rights. The RC cinematography award provides a EUR 2,000 camera-equipment discount; the AMAE editing award provides an annual Adobe licence.
