Hungarian premieres of international features form the core of CineFest in Miskolc, Hungary. Founded in 2004 and organized by CINE-MIS Nonprofit Ltd., the festival combines contemporary cinema with CineClassics screenings and discussions exploring film history. Its programme includes creative documentaries in CineDocs and short fiction and animation by emerging Hungarian filmmakers in CineNewWave. V4+ focuses on films from the wider region, while Fantazma presents formally and conceptually adventurous work. Open Eye offers a further perspective on world cinema, and CineKids introduces younger audiences to cinema.

The festival also hosts professional conferences, roundtable discussions and meetings with filmmakers. The dates for the 23rd edition are 10–19 September 2027 in Miskolc.
