Concorto presents international short films in an open-air arena at Parco Raggio in Pontenure, near Piacenza, Italy. The park surrounds a late 19th-century villa and a Victorian-style greenhouse. Daytime screenings and talks take place at Piacenza’s Ricci Oddi Modern Art Gallery, which also houses the festival offices. Concorto dates back to a retrospective in 2002; the non-profit Associazione Concorto runs the festival and film education projects.

The international competition accepts shorts of up to 30 minutes across themes and genres. A professional jury awards the Asino d’Oro (Golden Donkey), alongside prizes from young cinephiles and the audience. The programme includes thematic focuses, concerts, industry days and Concorto Kids. The dates for the 2026 edition are 22–29 August 2026.

Festival rules

2026 regulations Eligibility: Short films produced in 2025 or 2026 are eligible, without restrictions on theme or genre. The maximum running time is 30 minutes; the organizers may exceptionally accept longer films. Screening copies must be digital files in Apple ProRes or H264. Submission deadline: 1 May 2026. Individual entries use Shortfilmdepot and cost €6 per film. Preview copies require English subtitles; English-language films are requested to include English, French or Italian subtitles when available. Film schools, production/distribution companies and film-promotion institutions submitting several films by different directors may arrange online screeners through iscrizioni@concorto.com before the deadline. For batches above ten titles, half of the films must be entered through Shortfilmdepot at the stated fee. Selection: Festival staff handles preselection and final selection. The selected-film list is due by 1 August 2026 and the screening schedule by 10 August 2026; filmmakers receive results by email. Selected films must supply a screening copy and a timecoded dialogue list in time or risk exclusion. Hospitality details accompany selection results. Submitted works enter the Concorto archive and may be used for cultural, educational and noncommercial screenings, events and broadcasts organized by the association. Authors receive notice of subsequent screenings. Jury decisions are final; organizers decide disputed cases. Participation constitutes acceptance of the regulations. The Italian version prevails in interpretation disputes, and personal data is used to organize the festival.
