Independent Days International Filmfestival

The Independent Days International Filmfest (IDIF) in Karlsruhe, Germany, focuses on independently produced films from around the world: short films as well as documentary and fiction features. The festival presents itself as a platform for filmmakers working in art house and indie cinema.

Around 150 films screen each year, mainly at the festival cinema Die Schauburg, and many directors and producers come to Karlsruhe to present their work in person. The programme also includes workshops, talks, networking events and industry meetings. The festival holds the EFFE label (Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe), which it first received in 2017 and which is renewed for 2026–2027. The dates for the 2027 edition are 14–18 April 2027.
