Rooted in North Brooklyn, the Greenpoint Film Festival presents independent narrative, documentary and animated films from local and international filmmakers. Founded in 2011 by Woven Spaces, Inc., the nonprofit festival connects its screenings with filmmaker Q&As, special events and community gatherings. Its programme includes short films and features, with student work accepted in short formats. The festival links the local film community with artists, audiences and neighborhood businesses while encouraging stories that cross cultural boundaries.
The dates for the 2027 edition in Brooklyn are 4–8 August 2027. Its theme, “VISION,” focuses on original perspectives and approaches to storytelling.
