Golden Ger International Film Festival centres on short films that explore personal expression and unconventional filmmaking. Organised by the Mongolian Film Institute in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, it combines national and international competitions in narrative, documentary, animation and experimental cinema with invited feature screenings, masterclasses and discussions.
The festival traces its roots to the Mongolian Underground Film Competition in 2013 and also carries the former name Altan Khalis International Film Festival. Its national awards include the Golden Ger trophy, a DigiCon6 Mongolia award and international distribution support from Mailuki Films. The dates for the 2027 edition are 7–9 May 2027.

Submitters must hold the necessary rights, and the festival retains archival and non-profit promotional screening rights without acquiring copyright. Submissions go through FilmFreeway. National Competition entrants must also follow the festival’s FAQ: films must be complete, with completion or premiere within the preceding two years; directors and producers must be adults. Majority-Mongolian financing is required for co-productions in the National Competition, and prior participation in other Mongolian festivals or competitions is excluded except for student festivals. Mongolian-language films require English subtitles; other-language films require Mongolian subtitles. Films specifically made for very young children are ineligible. Previously public online films must be made private during the festival if selected.
