The festival is held in Valparaíso, Chile, with the support of the city's municipality, and screens its selection live in several venues. Its competition is open to works from any country, in any language with Spanish or English subtitles, and covers nanometraje (films under two minutes), short fiction, documentary, animation, experimental and horror films, music videos, feature films and screenplays.

A curatorship committee pre-selects up to ten films per category for the Official Selection, and a jury of representatives of collaborating entities and film professionals awards the prizes. Winners receive the festival laurel and logo for use on their promotional material. The 10th edition takes place in Valparaíso on 19–22 May 2027.

Festival rules

The festival is international: works from any country may be submitted, each filmmaker may enter as many films as desired, in any language provided it is subtitled in Spanish or English. The theme is free, as long as it respects good customs and human dignity. Categories by duration, credits included: nanometraje (under two minutes), short films (two to 35 minutes), feature films (over 35 minutes), video clips (any length) and movie scripts (under 300 pages). Submissions are made through the festival website form and by email to the festival with a Vimeo or YouTube link, frames, poster, technical and artistic data and a photograph of the director. The curatorship committee chooses up to ten films per category for the Official Selection, which is communicated to the authors. The festival is a live screening: selected films are projected according to a calendar published on the festival website and social networks. The jury is composed of representatives of collaborating entities and film figures selected by the festival management committee. Winners commit to mentioning the award in subsequent screenings and to placing the festival laurel on their promotional posters; the laurel and logo are provided to them.
