Socially engaged short films are the focus of Sólo Para Cortos, an international festival rooted in Barcelona’s Nou Barris district. The project dates back to 2004 and is associated with the Associació pel Foment del Curtmetratge Social and the Casal de Joves de Prosperitat. Its programme combines fiction, documentary and animation with a critical approach to social realities. Free screenings and exchanges with festivals in Mexico, Slovenia and Tangier form part of its community-based approach.
The final edition dates are 13–18 March 2018, with screenings at the Casal de Joves de Prosperitat, Can Basté and Espai Jove Les Basses. The festival archive remains at the Casal de Joves de Prosperitat.
