Corto e Fieno explores rural life through films about farming, landscapes and the relationship between people and the land. Rooted in the Lake Orta area of Piedmont, Italy, the festival dates back to 2010 and is organised by Asilo Bianco. Its screenings reach villages and venues beyond conventional cinemas, while Corto e Fieno OFF takes selections to other rural and urban locations across Italy.

The programme includes Frutteto, an international short film competition, and Germogli, an animation competition for children and young people. Chilometro Zero focuses on Italian rural cinema. The dates for the seventeenth edition are 9–11 October 2026 at Palazzo Ubertini in Orta San Giulio. Screenings are free, with films in their original languages and subtitles in Italian and English.
