Soria International Short Film Fest combines Spanish and international short-film competitions with themed screenings on work, human rights, gender and different forms of love. Organised by the Youth Department of Soria City Council, the festival treats short cinema as a means of cultural expression and education. Fiction, animation, documentary and experimental works share a programme that also includes music videos and screenings for children and schools.

The 28th edition runs in Soria, Spain, from 7–22 November 2026, with Colombia as the guest country. Its official selection has a 20-minute limit, and separate national and international competitions sit alongside the parallel sections.

Festival rules

2026 short-film competitions: national entries are Spanish productions, co-productions with more than 40% Spanish participation, or works by Spanish directors; the international competition accepts foreign productions. Fiction, animation, documentary and experimental films are eligible, with a maximum running time of 20 minutes. National films must be produced from 1 January 2025; the English international rules also specify this production date. Films previously submitted to the festival are ineligible. Non-Spanish-language works require Spanish subtitles. Entries must come from the rights holder or an authorised representative and are submitted through Festhome or Movibeta. The 2026 submission deadline is 15 June. Selected films require a Full HD digital screening copy with stereo AAC sound, film stills, a director photograph, a poster and film information. Selection can be for the official or a parallel section. The festival may use extracts of up to one minute for promotion. Selected competitive films grant non-commercial cultural screening rights for the following 18 months, with notification to the rights holder. Separate rules apply to the music-video, Soria Imagina, Cortos de Memoria and 90-second competitions; consult the official regulations for their specific eligibility and conditions.
