Caostica focuses on fiction shorts, animation and music videos in Bilbao, in Spain’s Basque Country. Its VideoZinema competition excludes documentaries, while the animation section accepts every animation technique. Alongside the section prizes, the Caostica Association presents the Bizarro Prize for work that reflects the festival’s irreverent and unconventional character. A separate award recognises work in the Basque language across the competition sections.

The festival is organised by the Asociación para la Promoción de Cortometrajes Caostica. Its programme combines the international short-film selection with filmmaker meetings, special screenings and Caostica Kids. The main dates for the 24th edition are 1–7 June 2026, with Bilbao venues including Bilborock.
