University students organise Ca' Foscari Short Film Festival in Venice under the guidance of film scholars and cinema professionals, with artistic direction by Maria Roberta Novielli. Promoted by Ca' Foscari University of Venice, the festival centres on an international competition for films by film-school and university students. Its programme connects film education with research into cinema and transmedia communication.

Alongside the main competition, the festival presents an international high-school short-film competition and the CINIT Music Video Competition. Animation programmes, filmmaker encounters and masterclasses extend the screenings beyond the competitions. The Auditorium Santa Margherita – Emanuele Severino serves as the main venue, with additional screenings across Venice.
