Young European cinema and the relationship between film and music shape Braunschweig International Film Festival (BIFF) in Braunschweig, Germany. Its main competition pairs a jury prize with the audience award Der HEINRICH for European debut and second features. Other distinctions recognise acting, films by women, queer cinema, sustainability, regional filmmaking and short films. Composer retrospectives, music documentaries and film concerts with the Braunschweig State Orchestra form another strand of the programme.

The festival dates back to 1987 and a group of twenty students, film-class graduates and Filmkoop members. The non-profit association Internationales Filmfest Braunschweig e.V. organises it. The 40th edition dates are 9–15 November 2026.
