Best Austrian Animation Festival surveys Austrian animation across independent art, commissioned work, student films and music videos. Its competition embraces narrative and experimental approaches, abstraction and representation, and analogue, digital and hybrid techniques. The Vienna event is a project of ASIFA Austria in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, Filmcasino and the SEHSAAL exhibition space. Its archive also records its earlier names, One Day Animation Festival and 2 Days Animation Festival.

The 22nd festival dates are 23–28 November 2026, with the 16th Best Austrian Animation competition. The programme includes an exhibition at SEHSAAL, a symposium at the Academy, competition screenings at Filmcasino and an awards ceremony.
