The Berlin Music Video Awards is an independent festival devoted to music videos, launched in 2013 by Aviel Silook. It operates without public or governmental funding and judges entries on creative intent and execution, whatever the language, genre, budget or label. Each category has its own ceremony, where the videos screen in full and the winner receives a TV tower trophy; the category winners then compete in the Best Music Video category. Categories include animation, AI, low budget, cinematography and experimental work.

The programme also features live performances, workshops, an outdoor area and a fashion show, a part of the festival since 2016. The 2027 edition takes place on 10–12 June 2027 at Gretchen Club in Berlin.

Awards and prizes

Each category has its own ceremony, and the winner receives the TV tower trophy. The winners of the regular categories compete in the Best Music Video category, which is the final. The final award for 2027 is a cash prize of 7,000 euros.

Festival rules

Anyone can participate; budget, label and names are not a determining factor. Music videos must be under 8 minutes. Videos published between 1 January 2026 and 7 March 2027, or not yet published, are accepted for the 2027 edition. Two videos by the same artist or filmmaker cannot be in the same category. Nominated videos are supplied without the end credit roll. If the submitter is not the owner of the video, the owner's consent is needed for a selected video to be presented and screened.
