Baixada Animada - Ibero-American Festival of Animated Film

Baixada Animada presents animated films from Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries: an average of 100 short and feature-length works per edition, chosen by its curators. Its name comes from the Baixada Fluminense, where its first edition dates back to January 2006 in Duque de Caxias and Nilópolis. Since its fourth edition in 2009 the festival also holds screenings at Ponto Cine in Guadalupe, Rio de Janeiro, and some editions add workshops, exhibitions, lectures and debates.

Its 2025 edition covers 12 cities across Rio de Janeiro State and two cities in Ceará, Fortaleza and Itapipoca. The 19th edition takes place in October 2026.
