Ascona Film Festival is an inactive international short-film festival whose home is Hotel Ascona on Monte Verità, Switzerland. Its identity centres on social networks as a means of connecting with filmmakers worldwide. The archive covers fiction, animation, documentary, music videos and experimental work. Andrea and Greta Biasca-Caroni are the organisers.
The eighth and final edition dates are 28 February–2 March 2019. Its programme comprises 28 short films, live Skype conversations with filmmakers, audience voting and jury and artistic-direction distinctions. The organiser confirms that the festival no longer operates; the official website remains an archive of its eight editions.

Awards and prizes
The final 2019 edition includes three audience prizes, a jury prize and an artistic-direction special mention. These are historical distinctions; the festival is no longer active.
Festival rules
The festival is no longer active and does not accept submissions. The organiser’s notice of 2 March 2024 warns that its FilmFreeway account has been misused to solicit entry fees. Archived submission forms and deadlines do not constitute a current call for entries.
