Organised by the British Film Institute, the BFI London Film Festival presents international features, documentaries, shorts, series and immersive works across London, with selected screenings at partner cinemas around the UK. Its programme groups films into thematic strands such as Love, Debate, Dare and Experimenta, alongside gala premieres, restored archive titles and competitions for features, debut films, documentaries and shorts. LFF Expanded explores immersive art, extended reality and video games.

The festival dates back to 1957 at the National Film Theatre, now BFI Southbank. Its Industry Forum includes professional screenings, panels and networking. The 70th edition dates are 7–18 October 2026, with BFI Southbank and the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall among its principal venues.
