Animakom FEST focuses on international animated short films in Bilbao, Spain, with competitions for professional work, student films and animated music videos. Its programme combines these selections with showcases of international animation festivals and a particular focus on films directed by women. The Animakom Award recognises a career in animation through retrospective screenings, while workshops, professional talks and masterclasses complement the film programme.

The festival dates back to 2017. Its official farewell statement announces the end of the festival after eight editions. The final edition dates are 9–15 December 2024, with screenings in Bilbao.
