Accessible Film Festival presents Turkish and international cinema with audio description, Turkish closed captions and accessible venues. Organised by Puruli Culture & Art in Ankara, it combines feature films, shorts and documentaries in thematic programmes with filmmaker discussions, children’s workshops and autism-friendly screenings. Its international Short Film Competition, part of the programme since 2021, accepts fiction and animation. The festival is a founding member of the BE IN! network of accessible film festivals.

The 2026 edition dates are 24–30 April in Ankara, with a separate Eskişehir programme on 15–17 May at Yunus Emre Cultural Center. Screenings and accompanying activities are free of charge.

Festival rules

2026 International Short Film Competition regulations: Fiction and animation shorts completed in 2025 or 2026, with a maximum running time of 20 minutes, are eligible without thematic restrictions. Documentaries, experimental works, advertising and promotional films are excluded. Films already available online, broadcast on television or commercially released on VOD or physical media are ineligible. Submissions are through FilmFreeway; the 2026 deadline is 23 January 2026. Entry fees are USD 5, 7 or 10 depending on the submission period and are non-refundable. Non-English preview copies require English subtitles. Only one film per director is selected. Selected films require a DCP for venue screenings, a matching digital file for accessibility preparation, and a timecoded English dialogue list. Competition screenings carry no screening fee. The regulations permit up to three venue screenings and possible Turkey-only, DRM-protected online access. Additional city screenings require prior notification to the director. Rights holders authorise accessibility adaptations; later screenings of the adapted work remain subject to their decision.
