Free screenings in the village of Vébron, in France’s Cévennes, are central to the Vébron International Film Festival. Organised by L’Écran Cévenol since 1988, it presents an international short-film competition open to amateur and professional filmmakers, with fiction, documentary and animation. Competition screenings take place in the village temple, with both a jury and the audience recognising films.
The wider programme includes evening screenings, some outdoors, discussions, video workshops and exhibitions. The festival connects film culture with rural life and gives audiences access to filmmakers and other cinema professionals. The dates for the 40th edition are 20–24 July 2027.
