Nicolas Keppens
Nicolas Keppens is a Belgian film director and artist from Aalst. He studied animation at KASK School of Arts in Ghent, graduating in 2012 with the short Superstars, and film at the LUCA School of Arts in Brussels; he then worked as an animator and as production manager for the studio of artist Hans Op de Beeck, and has taught animation at KASK since 2021. His shorts include Wildebeest, co-directed with Matthias Phlips and nominated for a European Film Award, Easter Eggs (2020) and the stop-motion film Beautiful Men (2023), which won the Alexeïeff-Parker Award at Annecy and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. With Phlips he also creates installations as the duo Mat & Nikki.
