Gina Kamentsky

Gina Kamentsky is an experimental animator and sound artist based in Providence, Rhode Island. Over a career spanning more than three decades, she has worked with painting, drawing and collage on film, rotoscoping, stop motion and pixilation, alongside sound collage, field recordings and altered instruments. She created kinetic sculpture under the name Mechanical Confections from the early 1990s until 2016, when she shifted her focus to film and animation. Her work has been presented in retrospectives at the Ann Arbor Film Festival, Ottawa International Animation Festival and Tricky Woman Animation Festival in Vienna.
