Steven Subotnick

Steven Subotnick is an American independent animator who has made experimental short films since 1985. His work combines handmade and computer-assisted imagery, textural abstraction, and carefully constructed sound. He earned an MFA in Experimental Animation at the California Institute of the Arts in 1986, studying with Jules Engel, and has taught in the Film/Animation/Video department at the Rhode Island School of Design.
