Monique Renault

Monique Renault is a French-born Dutch independent animation filmmaker whose work often uses coloured pencil on paper. She studied painting in Rennes and Paris and animation in Prague, then worked with Peter Földes, Sarah Mallinson and the AAA studio before moving to Amsterdam in 1976. Her films combine humour with social and cultural themes, and her professional work also includes animation workshops and international festival juries.
